Western Hermann’s Tortoises are often referred to as ‘Dwarf’ Hermann’s as their average adult size is smaller than that of the more commonly seen Eastern Hermann’s Tortoise. This variant also has very attractive shell colouration!

Enclosure recommendations
Whilst young, this species should be kept in indoor enclosures under overhead heating and UV lighting. Once old enough to hibernate, these tortoises can be housed outdoors in enclosed garden areas.
