Phantasmal Dart Frog For Sale - Epipedobates Tricolor

£59.00

Phantasmal Dart Frogs (Epipedobates tricolor) are a brilliant species for beginners, and their small and colourful appearance make them perfect additions to a bioactive enclosure!

  • Photos taken March 2025

  • For sale in our Bracknell reptile shop

  • Age: Adult

  • Sex: Possible Male

  • Average Lifespan: 5 to 10 years

  • Suitability: Well-researched beginner

  • Diet: Large fruit flies (d. hydei) and Micro crickets

  • This species does well in groups

  • Natural Habitat: Rainforests of Ecuador

Handling

Don’t let the name scare you, poison dart frogs are only dangerous when they consume their wild diet. In captivity they are safe to keep, although we avoid touching them unless essential for the frog’s well-being, as their skin is very sensitive and absorbent.

Enclosure recommendations

A bioactive glass terrarium with leaf litter, branches and live plants is ideal. UV lighting is beneficial. Any heating should be thermostatically controlled.

The enclosure should be kept humid (80-100%) but should not become stagnant, and a shallow water bowl should be provided that is refreshed daily.
