Von Hohnel’s Chameleons, also know as Helmeted or High-casqued Chameleons (Trioceros hoehnelii), are an awesome chameleon species which we love for their small size, docile nature and their ability to give birth to live young!

Wild Caught - to add fresh bloodlines to a breeding project
Age: Adult, exact age unknown
Sex: Male
May have slight cosmetic damage due to shipping, which will fade as they shed
Handling: Will tolerate handling on their own terms once they are used to their new home
Suitability: Experienced keepers who are intending to breed are preferred. Must be prepared to house babies as the females could already be gravid.
Diet: Insects dusted with the correct calcium and vitamin supplements
Natural Habitat: Woodlands of Kenya and Uganda
Enclosure recommendations
This species is best kept in mesh reptibreeze enclosures, with thermostatically controlled overhead heating and UV lighting. They are highly arboreal so require lots of climbing opportunities in the form of branches, cork flats, vines and live/artificial plants.
An automatic misting system and a dripper is highly recommended to maintain correct humidity levels and provide the opportunity to drink from moving water droplets.
A male and female can be housed together to facilitate breeding, but the male should be housed separately from the female once she is heavily gravid.
You will also need a separate enclosure prepared for any babies she may then give birth to which should be separated from the female to avoid accidental predation.
