Fish Scale Geckos (Geckolepis maculata) are an unusual species of gecko named after their large, diamond-shaped scales that have a beautiful iridescent shine to them in the light!

Sex: possible female
This listing is for multiple individuals, some of which have minor cosmetic imperfections that do not negatively impact them, such as re-generated tails
Handling: Best kept as a display species, these geckos can slough off their scales individually as a defence mechanism when stressed, which should be avoided
Suitability: Intermediate/ Very-well researched beginner
Diet: Live Insects and Crested Gecko Diet
Average Adult Size: 3 to 5 inches
Natural Habitat: Forests of Madagascar and the Comoro islands
Enclosure recommendations
Fish Scale Geckos should be kept in glass terrariums measuring a minimum size of 30×30×45cm, or 45×45×60cm for more than one.
They do best in live-planted bioactive enclosures with plenty of climbing enrichment in the form of branches, cork rounds, vines and plants, and have a higher humidity requirement of 60-80%.
They should be provided with thermostatically controlled overhead heating, and low-level UV lighting. Temperature and humidity should be measured with a digital thermo-hygrometer.
