Morph: Lime Zero
Adult Size: Capable of growing up to 6ft in total length
Diet: Herbivorous (Vegetarian)
Handling: Can become tame with positive interaction and patience, but remain unpredictable throughout their life. Can bite and tail-whip if feeling threatened. Not suitable for children.
Suitability: Keepers with experience and confidence
Natural Habitat: Tropical rainforests of South America
An ideal enclosure for an adult Green Iguana would measure at least 8×4×6ft (LxDxH) or larger, with a heated outdoor enclosure also being a good option.
Height is incredibly important for this species, so a raised basking platform is essential, made from a cluster of multiple heat bulbs that create a wide basking area to allow an adult to heat their entire body evenly.
UV lighting is required. Temperatures and humidity should be measured using multiple digital thermometers and hygrometers.
Babies can be housed in smaller versions of this, however we recommend having the adult enclosure already prepared.
There should be lots of climbing opportunities within the enclosure, such as raised platforms, branches, vines and plants. They will spend most of their time above ground.
