  • Age: CB21 (4 years old)

  • Sex: Female

  • Handling: Tolerate handling when necessary but mostly a display species

  • Diet: Mainly ants, however this individual does feed on micro crickets too

  • Natural Habitat: Hot, arid open sparse grasslands/ desert with burrows to shelter in

  • Suitability: Keepers with experience due to their diet

Enclosure recommendations

Regal Horned Lizards require a vivarium that is at least 3-4ft long as a minimum. They have high basking temperature preferences which should be provided with thermostatically controlled overhead heating, alongside high-level UV lighting.

We recommended a thick sand/soil mix substrate that allows for burrowing, and enriching decoration/cover to replicate their natural habitat. Temperatures should be accurately measured using a digital thermometer/ heat gun.
