Handling

Don’t let the name scare you, poison dart frogs are only dangerous when they consume their wild diet. In captivity they are safe to keep, although we avoid touching them unless essential for the frog’s well-being, as their skin is very sensitive and absorbent.

Enclosure recommendations

  • Bioactive glass terrarium

  • Leaf litter, branches and live plants are recommended

  • Shadedweller UV lighting is recommended

  • Any heating should be thermostatically controlled

  • Higher humidity requirements (80-100%) but should not become stagnant/ swampy

  • Shallow water bowl refreshed daily

  • Correct supplement schedule
