Although not related to true cobras, False Water Cobras are named after their ability to mimic the cobra’s iconic flattened hood when feeling threatened!

Natural Habitat: Tropical humid forested areas of South America
Mildly Rear-fanged Venomous: this species are mildly rear-fanged venomous as a hunting adaptation. If a person is bitten, this can act similarly to a bee sting, with some people being more prone to a reaction than others. That being said, this species do not tend to bite unless provoked and feeling threatened.
