Natural Habitat: Rocky areas and woodland of West Africa
Enclosure recommendations
Adult African Fat Tailed Geckos should be housed in a vivarium measuring at least 3ft long as the minimum size. Babies should go straight in to their adult enclosure as they grow very quickly.
Thermostatically controlled overhead heating should be provided, with temps measured using a digital thermometer or heat gun. Low level UV lighting is beneficial. Their ideal basking temp is 32-34c.
Fat Tailed Geckos require multiple hides within their enclosure, one of which should be filled with moist sphagnum moss to aid in their shedding cycle. Their ideal ambient humidity requirement is 40-60%.
