  • Natural habitat: Rainforests of Central America/ Mexico/ Colombia, near bodies of water

Enclosure recommendations

Due to their high activity levels and arboreal (tree-dwelling) nature, adults should be housed in enclosures measuring 4ft long x 3ft high minimum. The enclosure should have lots of climbing enrichment such as branches, vines and raised platforms.

They should be provided with thermostatically controlled overhead heating, and medium-level UV lighting. As they are a tropical species, they will not tolerate a significant temperature drop at night. Temperatures and humidity should be measured with a digital thermo-hygrometer for accuracy.
