Suitable for: first time reptile owners after a stunning new family pet.

Handling: very friendly and use to handling
Size range: around 3-4ft for mature males
Housing and habitat: at his size he requires a 4ft enclosure with thermostatically controlled over head heating.
Great beginner species, suitable for novice and experienced keepers alike as well as a family pet. A heavy-bodied, slow moving, gentle species that is perfect for children, under adult supervision.
This species requires basking temperatures of 32-35 Celsius, with a minimum night-time drop to 22 Celsius, and ideally thrives in areas of 50-60% humidity.
UV lightning is not necessary for this species, although studies show they benefit from exposure to UV rays.
This species does not require feeding as often as most other pets.
As babies they will typically eat once a week
Juvenile to sub adult once a fortnight
As an adult once a month, depending of food items offered
So a very low feeding cost in comparison to other species, and perfect for those new to the hobby, as maintaining feeding schedule is easier to manage.
